The masters of found-footage dread are officially back. The creators of The Blair Witch Project have unleashed the trailer for The Influencer Project, a grimy, deeply unsettling stalker film hitting theaters nationwide on Friday, October 2, 2026.
The film tracks a high-profile travel vlogger whose solo backpacking trip through an isolated state park turns into a livestreamed nightmare when a local stalker hijacks her signal.
The UCU Direct Connection:
Before Blair Witch became a global phenomenon and broke box office records, the creators were film students in Orlando, FL at the University of Central Florida. UCU’s own publisher used to run an Orlando punk zine back in the day and sat in their living room to watch one of the very first rough cuts of the movie. Seeing them return to their raw, low-budget found-footage roots for The Influencer Project feels like a massive full-circle moment for the genre.

Obsession isn’t just online anymore. The Influencer Project lands in theaters today. Where do you hide when everyone is watching? (image: Vertigo Releasing (UK release) or Lionsgate / Grindstone Entertainment Group (US distribution partner))
